Bajaj Auto Limited has launched of Utsah its state-of-the-art wellness and recreational facility at its Akurdi office.
The 6.5-acre facility, with its world-class infrastructure and exemplary amenities, aims to help employees maintain holistic wellness.
The facility was inaugurated by Mr. Rajiv Bajaj, Olympian Abhinav Bindra, Formula 1 driver Narain Karthikeyan, and social therapist Edi Golara at the Bajaj Auto headquarters in Akurdi, Pune.
Conceptualised, as the name goes, to bring exuberance and joy, Utsah is designed to help employees grow and evolve. Bajaj Auto feels that newer and sustainable facilities are necessary to provide quality services to its staff. Utsah is one such facility that looks after an employee's wellness.
The Indoor Games area has an Air hockey facility, Pool table, Foosball Table Table-Tennis area, Carrom area, and board games. Utsah's amphitheatre accommodates 600 people. There are gazebos for collaborations and meaningful conversations. It also has a multipurpose hall with internal badminton flooring imported from the US. It can host about 600 people. Multipurpose hall has facilities for Badminton, Basketball, Futsal, Volleyball, Handball and Rock-climbing.
Utsah has a self-sustainable architecture with rainwater harvesting, which can hold 65 lakh litres of water. It will be entirely solar-powered. The facility is designed in concrete, with hollow slabs to bring down the temperature by 5 to 6 degrees inside the building. The design is inspired by the Yin-Yang Concept, which channels both the masculine and feminine energy positively, through spatial effects for lateral and transformative activity.
Commenting on the facility, Rajiv Bajaj, MD, Bajaj Auto, said, "Utsah is meant to trigger healthy habits. Waking up every morning with enthusiasm and zest translates to good health. That is Utsah. I hope everyone will use the Utsah facility throughout the day, enthusiastically."
Abhinav Bindra said, "How does one achieve their truest potential? Prioritize your well-being and make sure that it is at the heart of performance. By prioritizing your physical, emotional, and mental well-being, you will be able to perform far better at the workplace. Socially, we are all conditioned to view work and play as two very distinct and separate things. By bringing the spirit of play in the workplace, it really helps in building relationships and camaraderie through lasting bonds, eventually leading to sustained excellence."
Narain Karthikeyan said, "The fantastic gymnasium, along with the center's aesthetic appeal, is sure to boost overall employee well-being. It's great to see brands like Bajaj champion employee well-being by creating a space for relaxation and rejuvenation."
The gym at Utsah has imported Technogym equipment used by Olympic athletes and specialised flooring imported from Hungary. It is fully air-conditioned, with all-natural light, and a stunning surrounding view, and has washrooms equipped with showers for all, including the specially abled.
The Utsah library has over 4,000 books that employees can self-check in and out. It has all-natural cooling. The facility also has a fully acoustic and sound-proofed music room with slide folding partition for performances. Its dance room has professional vinyl flooring with a sound system. Utsah also has a health bar, a food and beverage centre for fresh fruits, juices and protein shakes, to promote healthy eating habits.
